Canine Behaviourist Consultation Services

How can we help?

Our aim is to restore peace and harmony to a home that may be at breaking point due to the dog’s behaviour. Yes, things really can get better, and yes we really can make a difference! We will help you to understand how a dog’s mind works, and give you really simple strategies to help make lasting changes.

Your dog may be struggling as you return to work after the lock down. You may need help with a behaviour issue, you may have adopted a rescue dog, you may want some support with settling in (or choosing!) a new puppy or rescue dog, or just a hand to bring some new skills and fun into your training... Please get in touch today.

What you will get from us – What happens during a consultation?

We offer an initial one to one dog behaviour consultation. The process involves a detailed consultation, this enables me to understand the dog’s history, the nature of the current problems and your home environment.

In a dog behaviour consultation, I will visit you in your home twice with each visit lasting around 3 hours. On the first visit we will discuss your main concerns and will prioritise the dog behaviour issues we need to work on. I will also discuss the dog’s behaviour along with his interaction with you to identify the possible causes of the problems and present a range of solutions to resolve your dog’s behavioural issues.

We will agree a simple plan which will address your concerns, complete with demonstrations and coaching of the relevant dog behaviour techniques and training.

I will write up the plan and be available for phone and email support while you work with your dog on the plan. After an agreed period (usually around two weeks) I will visit again and we will look at the progress made and agree what needs to happen next. We will keep our plans flexible, within your budget, based on what your dog needs.

Your plan is key to help you implement and practice the simple behavioural techniques that need to become routine for you to achieve a positive and lasting outcome. I provide ongoing free email and telephone support which is essential for the best outcome.

My methods are force free, kind and will help you to make the improvements you are looking for. I will show you how to work with your dog rather than against it. With better understanding of how a dog learns, you will have more control and a much better relationship with your pet.
